Weather

Thailand lies just south of the Tropic of Center, within the tropical monsoon zone of Southeast Asia, and enjoys a warm mild climate throughout the year.
Roughly divided, there are three seasons: the cool season (Nov.-Feb.), the hot season (Apr-May), and the rainy season (Jun.-Oct.). Average temperatures are about 29° C, ranging in Bangkok from 35° C in April to 17° C in December.


 

Banks

The country’s central bank is the Bank of Thailand. Major Thai commercial banks include the Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Thai Farmers Bank and Thai Military Bank. Business hours are 08:30 – 15:30 hours, Monday to Friday. Some branches are open on weekends. Several international banks also have offices in Thailand.

Coins : 1, 2, 5, and 10 baht
Please note that only Thai currency or credit cards are accepted at commercial establishments in Thailand. There are few places to exchange currency outside of the airport, so it is a good idea to exchange your currency there. Some hotels will provide the service, but surcharges may apply. There are plenty of ATM machines around Bangkok and Thailand. It is recommended that you check with your home bank to see if you can use your ATM card to get cash from Thai ATMs.
